Belize is a tax haven. No income tax on foreign source income. No capital gains tax. Residency comes easily if you can show modest income. Real estate is expensive. Warning – This is a high crime country, violent crime at that. There is also a lack of infrastructure and do not expect good internet, TV or phones. There are hurricanes and they interrupt electrical, phones and internet. Medical assistance needs to be obtained out of the country. Belize is in tax treaties and is not a good choice for bank secrecy. Large secure banks are absent. This will work for some but not for most.
