British are moving out to Australia

Its a fact that the hard pressed British are selling up and moving out and one of the top destinations to start a new life is Australia. So has the doom and gloom of the British press finally got to the Brits or is it the cold wet summers. Then again it could be the threat of crime or the rising cost of living .
One thing is for sure Australia warm climate is a major factor and the housing market offers some very good bargains.

PERTH HOUSE prices have suffered their biggest fall in 25 years, according to new Real Estate Institute of Western Australia (REIWA) figures.

The housing markets have experienced their third consecutive quarterly fall in median price, thrusting them into “uncharted territory”, Rob Druitt, president of the REIWA said.

Sydney still leads the way with a median home price of A$542,000. Of all the major cities, Hobart has the most affordable homes with a median price of A$325,000. One of the reasons for increasing home prices is the lack of housing to meet the needs of a growing country. No doubt the British may be partially to blame for this.

23,000 Britons made the trip and stayed in 2006 and figures are sure to show year on year gains
so what is it about Australia?
